For my last social science requirement in high school, we were required by my teacher to do our very own research about the real cause of poverty in the world. The subject was highly political, making it more exciting and challenging for me. Anyway, we were required to publish it online and have our works criticized by anyone from cyberspace willing to give a word or two about our social science research.
